News was reported earlier today that Quentin Tarantino would be reaching out to other major studios outside of The Weinstein Co. (who backed almost all of his other pictures) to help finance his next film, Inglorious Bastards, but it's the update that came later that really caught people's ears. Apparently Tarantino is reaching out to Brad Pitt to star in the film.
A lot of speculation has occurred as to which stars would make up the ass-kicking soldiers indicated in the film's title ever since Tarantino first announced this project many moons ago, and now that Brad Pitt is in the running to play one of the leads (alongside the previously announced planned casting of Michael Madsen from a couple of years ago), it seems fan's desire to see a dream team collection of major Hollywood players may be finally coming to fruition.
This may be getting ahead of ourselves, being that Pitt hasn't even been officially cast yet, but who else would you like to see in this film?
Tarantino once said he had wanted to get Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger together for the project, so that there is definitely a cast worth aspiring to (albeit impossible to actually achieve, considering its overwhelming awesomeness).
Personally, I would love to see any variation of the following actors battling it out on-screen together: Josh Brolin, Kurt Russell, Clive Owen, Samuel L. Jackson, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Hugh Jackman, Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane, Benicio Del Toro, Terrence Howard, Tim Roth... Man, the possibilities are endless...
Shia LaBeouf?
I kid, I kid.
