"Death Race" Gets a Slick Yet Generic Poster

Following in the steps of the Death Race trailer which was released this past week, Shock Till You Drop has managed to get ahold of the film's first official poster.

As nicely edited together as it may be, this is a fairly standard poster set-up, complete with giant heads, race cars, and explosions: basically everything you'd expect from it. It features no surprises or creativity, but damn if it isn't nice to look at. And I think we can the expect the same will apply to the film itself.

With Death Race being directed by B-movie maestro Paul W.S. Anderson, the vibe this movie is giving off is not at all surprising. Whether or not you consider that a good thing depends on your mentality towards brainless-but-fun cinema. Personally, I'm all for it, so I'll be seeing this opening day.

On another note though, Jason Statham has apparently mastered the art of the furrowed brow. Check out a sample of how he looks in this poster compared to how he looks in the poster for In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.
