If you're gonna have the gall to release a trailer teaser advertising the teaser trailer, then that trailer better be damn well worth it. And as much as I'd love to tell you that the new trailer for The Incredible Hulk (which, mind you, is practically the only official thing we've seen for the movie to this day) makes the flick look as awesome as I'm sure everybody was hoping, so far all I'm getting from it is a sneaking suspicion that people are going to start appreciating Ang Lee's Hulk a tad bit more come summer time.
But enough rambling, here's the trailer:
Maybe it's just me, but nothing about that trailer makes the movie look enticing. It hardly even looks like a "Hulk" movie until the final scene, which I'm sure was a conscious decision meant to build suspense. Didn't work. I was mostly just bored, waiting through the cliche dialogue and dull story introduction to finally see even the slightest bit of Hulk action. And then when it finally comes, you've got two awful looking CG creatures (the other being Abomination) charging at each other in slow motion, Matrix-style. Oooh, intense. They look like they're made of clay. Haven't we had any technological advancements since the last Hulk? Why does he actually look worse than Shrek-Hulk?
I seriously have to wonder, why is this movie even being made? It's only been five years since the last one, and they're essentially doing a full-on remake of the thing. Talk about surreal.
The Incredible Hulk opens in theaters June 13th 2008.
